ST. PATRICK'S V EDMUND RICE (PAGE 2)

ST.PATRICK'S 1-7 COLAISTE FEIRSTE 2-11

This was St.Patrick's last game of the Faul Cup(Under 16) but they exited the competition with immense credit after an very entertaining game against one of the competition favourites, Colaiste Feirste.
St.Patrick's started the game slowly and had only managed 1 point in the first half and trailed by 10 points at half time.

However, the second half was a much different story.Three quick points from Denver Taggart,Darren McCanny and Niall McKillon(who had now moved from goals to full-forward) meant St.Patrick's reduced their arrears to 7 points.  St.patrick's were now beginning to play with some spirit and their efforts were rewarded 15minutes from full-time when Niall McKillon smashed a shot into the roof of the goal.Suddenly there was only 4 points between the sides and the momentum was definately with St.Patrick's.  However,to their credit Colaiste Feirste didn't panic and the next 6 points were shared (3 points each) with all of St.Patrick's scores coming from the trusty left boot of Niall McKillon.  With only two minutes remaining of the contest Colaiste Feirste scored their second goal of the game to finally kill off the hopes of a remarkable comeback.  Despite this 7 point defeat huge credit must be awarded to St.Patrick's for their second half efforts.  They played some excellent football during the second period and should take great heart from this display.
