Welcome to St Patrick's!
In January we would ordinarily be busily preparing to throw open our doors and welcome you in to meet with our staff and amazing students.  Unfortunately, our doors can't be thrown open but we've created a series of resources to give you a little flavour of life at St Patrick's.  We hope that you find the videos and information on this special Year 8 Transition section of the website helpful as you weigh up difficult decisions about September 2022.  If you have any further questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact us and we'd be happy to help.

Mrs Scarlett

My name is Mrs Scarlett and I am the school SENCO. My role involves co-ordinating the SEN provision in the school, working alongside the pastoral team and faculty leaders to ensure that children needing extra support are catered for through early identification and intervention when necessary. Your child’s view and participation in their education is crucial and together with parental collaboration contributes substantially to their education plan and their learning journey throughout their time at St Patrick’s.

All subject teachers are primarily responsible for delivering the curriculum to our pupils with SEN and part of my role is to provide teachers and support staff with relevant information and training about our SEN pupils, so they can effectively plan for and deliver appropriate targeted lessons which meet the individual needs of our learners. Through working with external agencies, St Patrick’s Academy ensures that our pupils and teachers have access to specialist advice from the Education Authority when necessary.

I am also the school’s Specialist Assessor, responsible for processing Access Arrangements for external examinations and internal testing. Working alongside the examinations officer, the Learning Support team aims to ensure that all children eligible for support are given access to it so that they can achieve their full potential.
