Religious Education

The Religious Education Department in any Catholic School is central to the whole of its curriculum. The R.E. Department has overall responsibility for the spiritual growth and development of the whole school community. The Religious Education Programme encourages pupils to:

  • acquire knowledge and develop understanding of the beliefs, values and traditions of religions;

  •  consider the influence of the beliefs, values and traditions associated with religions;

  • consider religious and other responses to moral issues;

  • identify, investigate and respond to fundamental questions of life raised by religion and human experience, including questions about the meaning and purpose of life;

  • develop skills relevant to the study of religion.

Spirituality

In St. Patrick’s Academy, each student is given the opportunity to experience a diversity of spiritual exercises while also catering for parents who wish their children to “opt out” of any of our religious observances.
