Location: Lisnagarvey HS

Specific Entry Requirements: At least C grade at GCSE English is preferred

Aim of the course: This qualification has been developed alongside many important agencies, such as: · Higher education organisations, including various universities throughout the UK. · Professional and trade bodies: Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years, British Association for Early Childhood Education, Preschool Learning Alliance · Employers: Smaller Earth

Course Content: 

3 Mandatory Units: 

• Children’s Development

• Communication and Numeracy 

• Play and Learning 

1 Optional Unit can be selected: 

• Physical development, care and health needs 

• Keeping children safe 

• The Early Years Foundation Stage

Assessment Methods: 

• Two externally assessed units 

• Two internally assessed units.
